is it true in FL you can give all your cash assets to a disabled son or daughter and not be penalized by medicaid for a nursing home? My 83 year old grandfather wants to give his 64 year old disabled (soc sec Disability) daughter all his cash ($300,000) prior to going into a nursing home.

There is an exception to the transfer penalty to a totally disabled child. You have to be very careful not to disqualify the disabled child from benefits though. A special needs trust is often used in these cases.
