Hi everyone. I am new to this web site.I live in New York City and my Dad lives in Florida with his 2nd wife. He is 88 yrs old and since having major surgery 4 years ago, his mental status has deteriorated significantly. His wife is at the end of her rope and wants him out. My brother and I have opted to move him to NYC to a nursing home so he can be near us. My father has minimal assets except for a modest house that he shares with his wife. I understand that the PRI needs to be done in New York if that is where he will go. Is this true? Also, does my father's house count as an asset for NYC Medicaid? Any recommendations for first steps? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.
