Hi, I am new to this board, and always expanding knowledge of parkinson's. My mother is a pwp of 10 yrs and is age 69.
It has been a tough ride, and one ugly disease but has brought beauty as well in our relationship. It has made us stronger, our love for one another is stronger, our spiritual bond is unlike any I have ever felt. Through the frustrations and worry- I would not trade caring for her for the world, though I would take this disease on myself if I could.
I was a long time member of Ask the Doctor Digest with Dr. Lieberman, there was a falling out between the NPF and Dr L, and he is now on his own, feeling lost and alone with caregiving, no one to truly understand until they actually have done it, I decided to create an online group for all of us to go. Gathering all the Ask the Doctor members, and grabbing Dr. Lieberman as our chat guest from time to time, we have come a long way in just 3 short months.
Anyone who needs an online support group for Parkinson's whether you are a pwp or the carer, we welcome you with open arms.
Our site is
http://www.geocities.com/pcsg2005There is chat, pwp sharing board, caregivers forum, photo Album of members, a prayer board... we add new things as ideas come up.
Fight back, move forward and we create a better journey through life with parkinson's "together".
Love, hugs and prayers
Karen J.
