Hello All,

Some of you may remember me as I was my mother's caregiver from June or 1995 until June of 2001. She lived in Ohio on her own farm and the state took everything and I moved to Arkansas. A town so small just don't blink. There are 1300 people and we are 45 miles south of Branson, Missouri in Marshall, Arkansas.

I've created a group for former and present caregivers to air their problems with abusive officials (nursing homes, state workers, federal, etc.) because I've requested in a letter a date to speak in front of the House of Representatives in Washington DC about Alzheimer's and the abuse caregivers have to take on behalf of their loved ones.

Here's a description and how to join if you would like to air your problems.

This group was created to provide a forum for past and present caregivers of Alzheimer’s people. I have written to the House of Representatives requesting an audience in the fall of 2006 to present to them the abusive evidence I have accumulated from visiting 57 nursing homes and several day care centers in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

This group is for caregivers to vent their frustrations with the government (State and Federal) on the part of the caregiver and his/her loved one. I am asking for letters (hand written or emailed, with your permission to use during my presentation in Washington, DC) on any corruption, crime, debasement, ration, exploitation, fault, injustice, misconduct, misdeed, mishandling, mismanagement, misuse, offensive, perversion, and wrong doing against you and your loved one. Tell others that might have their story to tell.

I am an eleven year 24/7 survivor of care giving of my beloved mother who passed to a better place on December 14, 2001. She was “mishandled” the last 3 months of her life in Essex Nursing Home, Salem, Ohio. At the age of 89 she was giving a radical mastectomy because of a lump in her breast that a biopsy showed was benign. She died 3 months later.

Anything that has happened to you by State Social Workers, Department of Health & Human Services, Daycare Centers, Nursing Homes, etc. would be gratefully appreciated. Also it would add ammunition to my presentation to the House.

I will put my information on this site for others to see what a nightmare I had to endure from family members, neighbors, doctors, hospitals, police, lawyers, and social workers [to name a few]

If you prefer not to have your information put on the group here you may mail it to me at Forget Me Not, PO Box 1133, Marshall, Arkansas 72650.

Thank you so much for your help in stopping the hidden abuse going on. Animals are treated better than Alzheimer's victims in the United States.

Thank You,

Marci
