I lost my mother this past February. My step-father lives in assisted living very close to me. I see him nearly every day. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's nearly 5 years ago. The neurologist then changed the diagnosis to Lewy Body & then back again to Alzheimer's. His meds have slowed down the dementia but, his most significant problem is his poor eyesight. The neurologist & opthomologist tell me that this is a symptom of his disease & nothing can be done. He squints & often closes his eyes, even sleeps for long periods because his eyes hurt. He can no longer read, tell time, work the computer, etc.. Does anyone have a similar circumstance?
