Rommie, I'm glad you've met some good people to support you in your Caregiver's Journey. It's so important to take care of yourself. You have to "take the oxygen first," because if you're incapacitated you can't help anyone else.
Ving, there are a lot of people going through exactly what you're going through. Alzheimer's disease is an epidemic and no family is untouched. The problem is, you spend so much of your time and energy caring for your husband, there's no time and energy left at the end of the day to find those people and establish the support system you need.
Online support resources can be excellent, because you can partake of them whenever you have the time and inclination; you're not tied to a rigid schedule and you can participate at 3 in the morning in your pajamas. The usefulness of an online forum depends on the time and energy given to it by its members. I'm going to be a very active participant in this area- I hope to be a good resource for you and one you can count on. Please let me know how I can help you on your Caregiver's Journey.
Rommie, I'm here for you, too. What's on your mind these days?
