Glen, I see you are in Orlando and I'm afraid I am not familiar with the community resources there. Try these places: 1) the Central Florida Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association at www.alzorlando.org, 2) your local Area Agency on Aging. They administer elder programs on behald of the Department of Elder Affairs. They can refer you to the local agency providing care under Community Care for the Elderly (CCE) which provides in home care. There usually is a long waiting list. 3)Also ask them if the Nursing Home Diversion Program exists in Orange county. This is a pilot project by the state to provide in home services and case management to elders at risk of placement who qualify for Medicaid. Unfortunately in-home care community resources are quite limited in our state because of our demographics. Good luck.
